Formerly known as Materials & Finishes Show, W Exhibition & Elements, the event has long been the UK’s leading tradeshow for the furniture manufacturing and joinery industries. Since its inception in 1974, it has evolved from a woodworking machinery exhibition into a comprehensive platform for industrial woodworking technology and materials. 

Following extensive industry feedback, we’ve listened - and Professional Woodworking Expo is now 100% dedicated to the woodworking and joinery sector. Returning to the NEC from 17-19 May 2026, the event will showcase the latest in machinery, tools, software, materials, finishes, and components, designed specifically for professional woodworkers, manufacturers, and installers. 

This next chapter ensures the show remains the essential destination for the UK’s woodworking community; where innovation, craftsmanship, and business come together. 

Event director, David Todd comments: “Our decision to refocus and rebrand stems from extensive market research and valuable feedback from our stakeholders, including exhibitors and visitors. We recognised the need for a dedicated platform that caters specifically to the UK's professional woodworking sector, which comprises over 30,000 joinery and installation businesses. 

“By concentrating on wood as our primary material and targeting professional woodworkers across the UK, we are positioning the Professional Woodworking Expo as the essential destination for forward-thinking businesses looking to improve efficiency, discover new techniques, and connect with key suppliers in the market.” 

The exhibition will run at the NEC from 17 - 19 May, 2026 and is the reimagined concept for W Exhibition, developed by Montgomery Group.
